I am able to perform well academically while participating in school sports. I love the companionship and support of a team. I joined a training clinic in the next town over during my sophomore year despite not knowing anyone there. This extra training helped me realize I really love swimming itself. Sadly, this clinic was not available this year due to COVID restrictions. This clinic was the reason I started thinking about swimming in college. On my team I make it my goal to encourage every member to succeed. Younger swimmers on my team look up to me and I’ve taken a leadership role this summer, organizing our season planning. I have been swimming my entire life and started competing in eighth grade on the modified school team. My love of the water extends to my summer job as a lifeguard.
