2018 Highlights Personal Statement
I have been competitively swimming since the fifth grade. Once I entered high school, I began swimming on varsity and joined Long Island Express, which has helped me to progress tremendously both physically and emotionally.
I am seeking a college swimming program that can challenge me both athletically and academically. I am an honors/AP student in 11th grade at Syosset High School. I have also attained All-Conference honors and have been able to balance sports and volunteer work while maintaining an A+ average. I am also currently working on my Girl Scout Gold Award, and auditioning for NYSSMA All-State for the trumpet. I believe qualities like hard work, dedication, and responsibility is what sets me apart from other recruits as a student/athlete.
I hope to soon gain All-County recognition for the upcoming swim season and qualify for the 2019 Eastern Zones Championship meet. Next year, I also hope to lead my varsity team to another Conference championship and break the school record in the 400 freestyle relay.
