My name is Sophia Stinnett and I am a sophomore at Cedar Ridge High School. Swimming has been a huge part of my life ever since my parents signed up for a summer league when I was 5 years old. I’ve grown to love the sport and how much it motivates me to work harder and harder towards my goals. One of my long term goals since I was little was to swim at the collegiate level. I believe a college that will push me in academics and in swim would be the perfect fit for me.
I strive to be the best teammate and mentor I can. One of my favorite things to do on my swim team is to motivate my teammates and friends to do the best they can even when sets get hard. Its so fun seeing how differently you can take a hard set and change your mentality about it just by having motivating people around you. This is why I love championship meets like states and sectionals. Just seeing your whole team come together to cheer you on is the best feeling. I also love being a mentor to our younger groups on our team. Being with the same team my whole swim career I remember looking up to the older athletes so now that I am the “older athletes” I really try to help teach and provide the younger swimmers with a positive role model.
Thank you for showing interest in me and helping me find my perfect college fit!
