I am passionate about sport. I have always been a kid who like to move and that has not changed. I played 11 years of ringette (ice sport) and I started running with the school teams at a young age and then was asked to join MAC Track with my current club. I was selected to take part in several invitational meets Tri-Provincials and Alberta Winter Games for Ringette in 2018 and Alberta Summer Games for track in 2018. In 2018 I also took part in the RBC Training Ground and was selected by Speed Skating Canada as a potential athlete to find success. I have pursued Speed Skating and maintained my track and field over the season which I have been unable to do in the past with my ringette schedule but this has allowed me to grow and develop as a track athlete and spend the time required to learn the new to me sport of Speed Skating. I also believe in encouraging young athletes so I have gone back to ringette in an assistant coach role and as a referee.
In 2019, I once again took part in the RBC Training Ground and was selected by both Speedskating Canada and Cycling Canada to attend sessions for further sport specific testing. Speed Skating Canada nominated me as one of 100 athletes across the country to the first ever National final event which took place in Calgary on September 14th. I am happy to report that my scores improved over last year and i am awaiting to find out if I will received funding to train along side the national team. Running still remains my passion though.
