T'Aliyah Perkins '22 Recruiting Profile

At first, I was going to just describe who I am as a person but I believe it's more beneficial to go beyond that. From all my years in middle and high school, I hold the 55m and 100m records, mainly built on talent. I found it easy my freshman year, then my sophomore year  came around and I actually saw my hard work starting to pay off, I even went to states for my 55m dash in the year of 2019! I placed 24th I believe but the experience was amazing, and once I felt that joy I wanted to feel it again. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and my injury building up from over the years since 6th grade, the years of 2020-2021 was really a recovery season for me. I saw athletes I used to be able to beat run faster times, and I felt discouraged throughout this year. All in all, this did and will not hold me back, I continue to better myself everyday and I cannot wait to get back on that track for my senior year. Even off the track, I'm a good-hearted person, I'll help others, and try to make others feel included. Academically, I have never failed a class, I've been in advanced classes such as Algebra 1 and 2, Pre-Calculus, Regents Chemistry, etc. I have a lot of passion and potential, and I don't plan on letting it go to waste. Just know, that if you placed your bets on me, I guarantee I would not leave you disappointed or having regrets.
