Hello,
My name is Emma Vacca. I am a Senior at Eno River Academy High School in Hillsborough, North Carolina. I’ve been running cross country since 8th grade and track since 9th grade. I’ll be honest and say that cross country is more my jam.
I’ve never been the fastest but I’m working my tail off to get there. When cross country season ended in November (2021) I took two weeks off to recover and since then, I have been training six days a week. I have seen my hard work paying off by achieving PRs with times I never thought possible for me to run. I know I have a lot more growth potential, I have not yet hit a plateau. This sport has really shown me how persistent, and maybe a little stubborn, I am. I will bring a strong spirit to your team. Even more than that, I will bring about a greater sense of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and positivity. My favorite part of running is the team. It makes me just as happy to see my teammates succeed as I feel when I run a good race or hit a new PR.
Before I am an athlete, I am a student. I set very high academic expectations for myself. When I graduate high school, I hope to rank in the top five in my class. I hope to go to the best college for me, academically. I want to major in Speech Language Pathology and Deaf Studies. After receiving my bachelor’s degree I plan to go on to get my masters before entering the workforce.
If you take me on your team I will be fully committed, on the course and off. I will give 100% effort at every practice and every race. I will be the loudest cheerleader for my teammates and celebrate their wins, even when I do not have wins of my own.
I appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you.
