I am currently a senior in high school. I consider my self an easy going person. My goal everyday is to be the best person I can be, and to face every challenge with a positive attitude. I love to smile and I cherish everything good in life. I cherish my family, friends, school and of course volleyball.
I have been playing volleyball for five years. Seventh grade was the first year I picked up a volleyball, and it has been my passion ever since. I believe that I made one of the best decisions of my school career, all by signing up for a sport I hardly knew anything about. Little did I know that this decision would lead me in a direction that I could never imagine. I never thought that a sport would teach me so much. Volleyball has taught me about teamwork, leadership, encouragement, motivation and much more.
I truly believe in hard work and dedication. My parents have taught me that hard work and dedication leads to success. I use this on and off the court. My school work is just as important to me as volleyball. I make it a point to work as hard as I can in all of my classes.
My twin sister, Brittany also shares the same passion for volleyball as I do. Our first club practice in seventh grade Brittany told our coach that she wanted to try to become a setter, not knowing the difference between me and my sister, my coach had me practice to become a setter. Becoming a setter started one of the hardest struggles for me personally in volleyball. I knew that I would have to work hard and be dedicated, I went to many camps and practiced for many hours trying to improve my skills.
I have been playing on the Galway varsity volleyball team for four years and this will be my sixth year on Caroga Lake Volleyball club team. Each team practice, I am the first one on the court and the last one to leave. I continue to build myself mentally and physically in the game of Volleyball and in the game of life. Each day I do something to build my body and mind. My goal is to play high level competitive Volleyball in College and after.
