Aloha my name is Ocean Akau and I am currently attending Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi located on Hawaiʻi Island. I currently play for my high school team, but I hold aspirations to one day play on the collegiate level. It is my belief that hard work and passion can get you anywhere in life. I truly believe that my good work ethic and tenacity that makes me a great candidate for your team. I consider myself a fast learner and someone who is able to retain new skills. I feel that I display great coachability, as I am able to apply everything that I am taught. Being enrolled at Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi, a college preparatory school, I am challenged daily to be able to handle large workloads and I am trained to be able to handle numerous responsibilities while balancing both athletics and academics. One trait that I feel sets me apart from other athletes is my growth mindset. It is my belief that mindset makes up a large part of an athlete's performance. Being able to not dwell on mistakes and be able to view mistakes as learning opportunities allows me to stay on a path of continued growth. I have the ability to always see mistakes as room for improvement.
