Hello my name is Jo-Ellen Hutto.
Some of my collegiate goals are to get my degree for a Physicians Assistant, graduate with honors, and to meet new people ! I would be a good candidate for your team because I am very dedicated and willing to push my limits to become a better student, athlete and person. What makes me different from others would be I am dedicated to making myself better and do all I can to be the best I can be. I became interested in wrestling in middle school, when I was playing football and my coach told me wrestling and track would make me better on the field. I decided to give it a try and immediately fell in love with it. Wrestling is now my main and all time favorite sport. I have had to over come some obstacles to get where I am from people telling me "girls can not do guy sports" or " you aren't strong enough" to moving to a new state and having to adjust to all new surroundings and friends. I push myself to get better every day and do things people said i couldn't do.
My greatest accomplishment so far would be winning the first ever North Carolina High School Women State Championship at 126 lbs. I am lucky to have strong family support that encourages me to try and do anything I want to athletically. With them and the strong coaches I have had in Middle School and now High School that have taught me the value of hard work, commitment and teamwork. I feel like I have what it takes to help your program and the character to represent the school, the program and the community the way it should be.
