Justin Soriano '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Justin Soriano.  Since 2nd Grade, I've been training on mats. I started with Jiu-Jitsu and Judo.  When my parents brought me to a Wrestling practice, I dropped everything else and focused solely on Wrestling and quickly fell in love with it.  Wrestling has taught me many valuable lessons including how to overcome adversity and hard work always pays off. This past year I was able to take 3rd Place at the 2022 New York State Tournament. The year before that I was All State at the Journeymen 2021 NY State Tournament. I was also able to become an All-American at the High School Nationals in Virginia Beach as a sophomore. I will be competing at the High School Nationals again this year as a Junior. As I move into my Senior year next year, I plan on finishing my High School career with a state title and an even better showing at National tournaments including the High School Nationals, Super 32 and Fargo.

Eventually, I plan to continue pursuing my academic and sports goals in college.  I have a lot to learn but I can guarantee two things. One, I will be the hardest worker in the room. And two, I will be coachable and have a positive attitude and contribute to the team.
