My name is Sasha Persaud and I am a junior at White Plains High School in White Plains, New York. I play for the High School Varsity Softball Team as well as EC Bullets NY. I am a Right Hand Pitcher and Outfielder. I began softball when I was 5 years old in order to become more social, yet competitive with my peers. The ambition I gained has persisted and developed through my softball career. My current goal is to play collegiate level softball and potentially reach a Division I level. I am willing to put forth my utmost effort to become the best player I can, both physically and mentally. Through softball, I have learned lessons of dedication, perseverance, teamwork, and overall hard work. I have incorporated these attributes into my academics and daily life. In school, I strive for success and have taken the most rigorous classes including honors courses, AP courses, and an accelerated math program. I have also been recognized as a scholar athlete for three consecutive years. Not only has softball impacted my academics, but it has also had an effect on my character. Due to my involvement in softball, I have grown up learning to work and cooperate with others effectively. Additionally, I have become more extroverted, confident, and welcoming towards new people I meet. Softball has inspired my devotion and commitment in all my endeavors. For the duration of high school, I have continued to be diligent, focused, and constantly challenging myself, which I plan to sustain throughout my academic and athletic pursuits. I believe softball requires both a dynamic and mentally tough athlete, as well an individual with integrity and respect. I envision myself as a player that will constantly possess these traits and hold myself to a high standard both on and off the field.
