My primary educational goals are to earn a BS in biology and eventually enroll in Medical School. I am an incredibly hard worker who hardly ever misses a practice. I cheer on my other teammates and I am captain of my high school's diving team. I started diving in grade 9 and by grade 11 I am ranked 19th in New York State. This is remarkable considering that the high school I attend does not have diving boards. I attribute this achievement to my extensive gymnastics background. As a gymnast, I excelled in the floor exercise and at level five, I competed and won first place in the state. My ability to tumble carries over into diving and enables me to flip and twist more easily. I am an honors student and I have always maintained a high average in order to facilitate my attendance of medical school. I am very good at managing my time between school, sports, and extracurricular activities.
In my community, I volunteer my time tutoring middle school students in French. This year, I also replied to numerous 'Letters to Santa', as well as worked at a local 5k scholarship fundraising road race (Big A's 5k). In my role as team captain, I organize team dinners and team bonding experiences, as well as help new members fit into Queensbury's diving family. I look forward to each day at practice and I do not feel like diving is a chore. I am passionate about competition and I realize that everyone has good and bad days. I feel that the good days are the ones that I should focus on, and positivity and an excellent sense of humor can opens doors for you.
